ADMINISTRATIVE MINISTRY
It was Jesus who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to
be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God's people
for works of service, so that the Body of Christ may be built up.
(Ephesians 4:11-12)

GOALS:
During the next five years we will:

Maintain a consistent, well-trained Staff and Officers to meet the needs
of our membership and programs
Action Steps:
- Encourage the Ordained and Program Staff to explore sabbatical
opportunities/Dr. of Ministry
- the Personnel Committee shall annually review the adequacy of the church
staff and determine if there are any additional needs for hours or people.
This task should be accomplished with respect to the budgeting process
- Develop a program to better locate, hire, support and anticipate future
staff
- Select new Officers using criteria of the "Book of Order" and according to
the needs of our growing congregation
- Train church Officers in faith development, knowledge in the PC(USA) and
leadership skills

Develop multiple channels of communication among and between members, leaders,
and the community.
Action Steps:
- Use frequent and diverse verbal, written, and visual forms of communication
- Expand use of banners, posters, and bulletin boards within the church to
highlight church opportunities, programs, and mission work
- Distribute copies of Session and Diaconate actions through the church
newsletter and website
- Utilize the website and email to communicate more effectively with the
congregation
- Produce a weekly announcement section for distribution during worship
services and through the website.

Provide adequate, well-maintained facilities for all church activities
Action Steps:

Complete a review of facility needs for the next 5 - 10 years, including
the property between 15th and 16th Streets

Set aside a contingency fund of $75,000 for unexpected facility repairs
(amount to be re-evaluated each year)
- Use the Long Range Plan as a guide for St. Andrews-Covenant
Action Steps:

Publicize the current Long Range Plan to all members

Review current committee structure for alignment with the Long Range Plan
and revise structure as necessary

Annually evaluate progress against the Plan and communicate to all members

Develop a new Long Range Plan in 2009 for 2011-2016 to meet changing church
goals

Conduct an evaluation and assessment of the church's programs, services,
staff, and facilities; take any remedial action as necessary
