MISSION, OUTREACH, and ASSIMILATION MINISTRY

OUR VALUES IN THIS AREA OF MINISTRY INCLUDE:

An active congregation
Sharing our time, talents, and financial resources locally and worldwide
Living our faith by providing opportunities for our members to serve others
The spiritual growth and inspiration we receive by participating in mission work
Opportunities to witness to others about Christ's love
Being an invitational community of faith

GOALS:
During the next five years we will:

Track the participation of new members
Action Steps:
- Develop a system to track participation of new members
- Communicate expectations of participation to all new members
- Increase opportunities for non-church members to participate in all church ministries
- Conduct a spiritual renewal weekend for congregational members in Spring 2007
- Support and encourage the Alpha Program
Improve support of local missions
Action Steps:
- Annually identify at least two "hands-on" outreach opportunities in the local community for churchwide participation
- By January of 2009 establish a Mission Hospitality Center in the 16th Street property
- To the best of our ability lease our available property to those organizations which would enhance the mission of service and outreach
Continue support for worldwide mission
Action Steps:
- Expand/Strengthen our support of PC(USA) mission programs
- Publicize the work of missionaries that we support
- Hold fund-raisers to support mission trips
